dear j-f sloppy, did you read the article you posted. It confirmed exactly every fact reported by the gentlemen who was fired. To remove a person because he did not ask permission to recite the pledge. No one it appears but ms marshall took offense at the pledge and what it a Mayor say when asked his opinion. Mayor Sam Arca of Guadalupe didn't want to comment because he works with Ms. Marshall on the Santa Barbara Association of Governments. "Why shoot yourself in the foot?" he said. Dear JF: After the meeting, she fired Mr. Olla for not consulting with the committee first before reciting the pledge. One week later, her opponents launched the recall drive, and Sheriff Thomas said he would consider a run for her seat. "She made me mad as hell," Sheriff Thomas said Friday. "When she fired Joe Olla, and told him that he was fired because he'd done the whole thing for my benefit, well, it wasn't true. It wasn't the pledge issue, and not her getting upset at the meeting and yelling at people, but because she said Joe did it for me." This article would appear to me to CONFIRM what I saw on the Oreilly show and posted here. In addition the man fired claims HE DID in fact consult with her and she told him NO. He also claims that the code they operate under REQUIRES an American Flag be present at the meetings which has NOT BEEN heretofore. He also stated that the group ROSE AS ONE to make the Pledge and SHE WENT BERSERK embarassing him and others. Sorry J.F. the lady is a Wacko and I hope she is recalled. JDN
