I am going to make a long term prediction.

I see the same thing you see Paul. I hate to say this but I'm not willing to handle paper money anymore if there is an alternative. Email, electronic bill pay etc. It's a must. I haven't written a check in months. All this means more Intel processors and Intel servers. Now, how are we going to finish the "last mile" so the Internet becomes ubiquitous. Eisenhower pushed the national highway system in the 50s. It's time to do the same for the internet.(I typed Intelnet by mistake... Freudian slip?).

Paul, Re: Elmer & Intel Investors - I am going to make a long term prediction.
The constant daily reports of Anthrax-contaminated letters - and now a cyanide-laced letter - will lead to a rapid decline in the use of physical mail as a means for communications, billing, advertising, etc.

That's a more detailed post, similar to one I made 2 or 3 weeks ago, after I heard a syndicated radio guy say don't send him letters, because he wouldn't open them. Send him email instead. I was thinking that it's so simple, that email is completely safe, when that guy said it on the radio. Paul Otellini said something similar too, sure you recall, that EU sales picked up after 9/11, and that maybe it's because a lot of people decided it's time they'd better get on the Internet.

Dah! But before you run and buy your favorite tech stock, remember that in the intermediate term (4 to 5 years) we will live through enormous productivity losses added to the post bubble contraction and deflation.

Here is another prediction for you: Intel will never again see its all time high of $75 5/8, the price I shorted my first 2000 shares at.
