You're jumping to conclusions, as the discussion really had nothing to do with Afghanistan per se. I rejoice in no death even though I know and accept that we will do whatever is necessary. My point was that indiscriminate slaughter of entire populations is not U.S. policy and that incinerating half the planet is not an option we should contemplate lightly. If finding a less-drastic path to victory takes a while then I would maintain that we should be prepared to exercise the sort of patience and resolution that President Bush has called for.
