Well, they don't seem to have any clear structure , the hierarchy is somewhat fluid however the "foot soldiers" don't know and don't even ask who the generals are. It's very hard for me to compare them to any traditional & structured type of organized crime. A French underground net work during the Nazi occupation had a similar style of operators not knowing who the generals were and often not even allowed to know more than one or two of the other operators, However their objectives were patriotic, these guys don't seem to call Russia a mother country, and most don't even have a "family" in the sense we regard family as taht's considered a liability.
