First thing I'd try is going to Tools, Internet Options and delete temporary files. I'd then go to C\windows\temp and delete everything in the folder. Depending on your version of IE, you can go to control panel, add/remove programs and click on Internet Explorer and click on the remove button. This will bring up a box asking if you want to remove, repair or revert to your previous version. I'd choose repair and then try the download again. If the repair doesn't work, you will get a message to reinstall IE setup. Since you can't download, that won't work so go back and restore the previous version and then try again. If that doesn't work try lowering your security settings (under the Security tab of internet options) and going to windows update and if you can't use the site you will be directed to a help page with more steps you can take. You'll have to download that java plugin before you install the downloaded software you need. Let us know.

Sherry,

I use Interactive Brokers for trading. The Trader Workstation can be downloaded from the site without Identifying yourself as a member. There is also a version that runs from within the browser itself, so no other download is necessary. You do need the Java from their link to run it. It may not be the same as the Java plugin you already have. If you download the standalone version, it will probably not be the latest version, but when you install it creates a little program that checks for and installs updates. It sounds like your problem has nothing to do with this particular site or download file.

Dan

Hi Sherry,

This is the java plug-in that you need to use IB software. Even though you are using IE with java enabled, the plug-in has to be installed before the IB software will work.
