Russia, India oppose Taliban's participation in future Afghan government - official

MOSCOW. Nov 4 (Interfax) - Russia and India are convinced that the Taliban movement has absolutely discredited itself, and that its participation in the future government of Afghanistan is absolutely unacceptable, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Losyukov told Interfax ahead of Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's upcoming visit to Russia.
The Indian prime minister is arriving in St.Petersburg on Sunday and is to fly to Moscow on Monday.
The upcoming Russian-Indian talks are expected to focus on the struggle against terrorism and the situation in Afghanistan.
A joint statement on the struggle against terrorism will be made, Losyukov said
