The problems were inherited. This mess would face whomever was in Office. While Bush is no genius, at least I think he "knows" right from wrong, so I have to give him the benefit of the doubt. If he secretly proves to be doing wrong "on purpose", then that is more evil. Gore, on the other hand, would be trying to plant trees in Afghanistan and drop little booklets called "You are part of God so we should just get along". The economy is toast anyway. The terrorist problem is largely here because of liberal policies that flourished under Clinton -- incorrect interpretation of communist's threat since Soviet breakup; no clue about increased availability of products and minds to terrorists; decreased military spending; over-emphasis on an "open" America through ridiculous immigration and quota laws; and particularly the attitude that began in the 70's but accelerated in the 90's -- "if it feels good, do it".
