Wanna, I've building computers for over 14 years and I have never seen one die because of thermal failure. I have even booted a couple of Athlons without the heatsink installed. They just freeze after a few seconds. About your business argument, they are all still buying P3's. What kind of thermal protection do they have? Most good motherboards these days have their own protection. I just bought a SpaceWalker( shuttle ) AK31A which uses the onboard sensor ( does not care which CPU you have ) and has a warning temperature setting and a auto-shutdown temperature setting. I set the shutdown one to 60 celsius. So to make a big deal about this in my book is FUD.
