As far as I am concerned it means that major broadband semis players (AMCC, PMCS, BRCM, etc) are one of the few places you can place a long term buy-and-hold bet and be fairly sure that a year from now you will have a considerable gain.

Personally, I don't believe in betting on trading ranges. You have a great chance of selling after a short run up just to sit on the sidelines while a strong and fairly permanent rally takes off.

Trading ranges are a reality when there is no driving force to bring the economy back once the FED drops rates way down.

If there were no internet I would bet we base and enter a trading range for years and years. However, that is not the case and there is no philosophy that is going to decrease the constantly increasing demand for bandwidth.
