Addi, You do not know me, but a friend of mine told me about this board when it was created a few weeks ago. At first I found it a bit amusing, and because of the nature of my work I could not afford spending time on coffee shop subjects such as understanding Islam. But then something happened. I saw how a few can genuinely oppress the expression of thoughts even in cyber space. This was when it got my attention. I salute you for starting this board and I wish you the very best of luck. Dont worry about Ameins of the world. They come and go. As you stated they will be exposed and flushed out by our free thinking society. Ahhh...I appreciate your kind words, but I don't know. I have always defended Islam on SI. I have always tried to understand and make excuses for them. I always thought the religion itself had some very good spots. And I have defeneded even their draconian laws of middle east....right until I heard them say these silly things about inconvenience of racial profiling and loss of civil liberties and rights, and those little Moslem kids in a school at London, applauding Bin Ladin and speaking against the US and the British. Portrayed their parents as shallow and ungrateful 'race', even traitors, for spreading their hatred thru innocent kids ! We teach our kids to respect their (adopted) country, to die for their (adopted) country....so with friends like these, who needs enemies ? I'm not a confrontational person at heart. Quite the contrary. But how much is too much ? Intolerance begets intolerance and at some point one reaches the end of one's patience....and hopes that they will act like adults, pull their weight, and stop whining about how the whole world is against them and how the world actually owes them all this attention and how they are God's best gift to the rest of the world. The reality is, no one really has the surplus time and resources to sweep up this mess....and yet, we are forced to deal with this mess, emotionally, financially, physically, day after day, month after month, year after year, decade after decade in Palestine, in Iraq, in Pakistan, in Chechenya, in Kosovo, in Kashmir, in Afghanistan, in US and God knows where else, when all of us would rather be left alone in peace...to make this a better world ! Millions of Arabs are allowed to become naturalised citizens of US and UK. Why doesn't any single Arab country allow even a single Palestininas to become legal citizen of their country. If it isn't Palestine, it will be Kashmir, if it isn't Kashnir, it will be something else....their energies need to be spent in war and plunder.... As I discussed with someone earlier...in my country, there is a proverb which goes as follows... He who commits a crime against humanity, is a criminal. And he who accepts and endures that crime in silence, is a far bigger criminal.* Hence my outburst ! ----- *Far bigger criminal because he's helping in creation of a Frankestein !
