Joe and TC,

Thank you both for your input. I am beginning to suspect the nic card. It is a 3-COM 3C905C-TX. Seems to work fine for a while and then just seems to disappear. When I remove Zone Alarm which requires a reboot it comes back. If it does it again I will check the device manager. I am going to check the XP compatibility list and make sure it is on it.

I am going to stick with your settings Joe and we will see what happens. Do you have Outlook Express and if you do, does it have server status?

Thanks again. I will let you know how it turns out.

Bob
