Amein, For the record I am not Addi, nor anyone else but myself. I find you despicable for which you are nothing but someone who feeds on manipulation of innocent minds. I challenge you to face the questions and issues raised and response to them instead of ignoring them, and/or blocking people to express their opinion. I could not laugh when I read your statement of " wish or like to go off on a tangent and forget the main purpose of this thread... which is to provide reliable sources about Islam…". The most reliable sources of all is Quran itself, and yet even that you are trying to ignore! For God's sake why dont you read your own Quran and provide an intelligent response to the questions raised! You can go ahead and block me, and anyone you want, but I also believe as my good friend Addi posted to you that you will eventually be flushed out by our free thinking socio-economic, political and religious system. Amein, I have no desire to get involved in your wars with other people....please leave me out. And we could debate whether a heart surgeon makes a contribution to advancement of society. I could say they are important parts of society, just like armymen, engineers and teachers are, they're professionals...hardly Nobel Prize material unless they carry out some astounding procedural breakthroughs....! So what exactly did this guy do ? And where did he get the skills to perform those medical procedures ? In Saudi Arabia or in Iraq ? And besides, ONE (or even a dozen if they exist) heart surgeon is all you could come up with ? It is strange that you are hard pressed to come up with an inventor, a medical discovery person, a prominent writer <except Gibran who really broke free of his Arabian shackles>, an artist, a philosopher, an architect, an economist, a humanatarian <like Mother Teresa>, a computer wizard...take your pick...any profession....anything earth shattering there in the last 100 years ? Zilch. The entire Arab skyscape, water plants, electricity plants, educational institutions, even their armies are based on expats. Heck, they even import people to clean their toilets for them ! Take those people out, take the know-how out and see what is left there. And admitting that is the first step to accepting the reality and the facts... Its not that there is no intelligent person among Moslems. I think Bin ladin is extremely intelligent. So is Saddam Hussain. And so are millions other out of the billions. Unfortunately, most utilise their energies in waging wars and killing people and suppressing the few good people.... Like I told you before, I have no intention of 'wasting your time', coz I understand EXACTLY what you are.....just a faceless name trying to find excuses for these actions, paying lip service....like all those others....
