FAB 30 was 100nm. That implied the 150nm process.

Do you have any idea what comes in the package when you license MOT and IBM process technology? Some questions?

1. Support? What if your yields don’t match, any help?
2. Integrated help on process transfer? Process module matching indicators?
3. Tool recipes, and list of all tools used to develop?
4. Help on conversion to your tools or conversion to tools you don’t have but are compatible.
5. Do you get the latest and greatest rev of process, what stage is the process in when you purchase license?
6. 300mm would have to be a separate license, are you now locked into a license purchase for all future technologies, do you have to ask or share improvements?
7. Do you get to try before you buy, send an AMD SRAM lot thru and test yields?
8. Would AMD be CE! to IBM and thus could possibly take greater advantage of IBM foundry in the future?
9. Do you copy on process or mimic process methodology.
10. What if you can't buy the equipment IBM uses, or they installed proprietary "stuff", can you have that "stuff"

I imagine the process wasn’t build to be sold the buyer came asking. What was the price to license?

I imagine this SOI ramp at Dresden would be one of the greatest process accomplishments if they ramped with initial high yields considering all the normal barriers then add in the plant is in Germany. Kinda like a bottom of the ninth rally….very common these days.
