Bingo! on both counts, Peter. Thanks.

Georgia Tech appears to be duplicating some fo the work of CableLabs, and the Gambit "MIMIC" product (a term that I used, I believe) appears to produce simulators that both of those labs could use:

"Cable providers can use MIMIC to simulate the 1000s of households that use cable modems to assure the scalability of cable management software. In addition, providers can also use MIMIC for large-scale Operations Support System (OSS) testing deployments in place of large banks of cable modems, which would be cost prohibitive."

... just what the Doctor ordered. Thanks again.

Somewhat O/T - Peter, I see that time has proven you right: HiperLAN2 has turned out to be a non-event, and 802.11X is clearly taking the lead.

Your description of the problems inherent in bringing HL2 to life was prophetic.
