This was certainly to be expected:

The 18 state attorneys general who are co-plaintiffs in the Microsoft antitrust lawsuit are not expected to sign a settlement agreement--at least in its current form--hammered out between the software giant and the Justice Department, said sources familiar with the matter.

The Justice Department and Microsoft on Friday delivered the proposed settlement in the form of a consent decree to U.S. District Judge Kollar-Kotelly. But the states asked the judge for more time to review the settlement, which received little input from the attorneys generals, said some sources familiar with the negotiations.

Lawyers representing the states are scheduled to meet with Kollar-Kotelly at 6 a.m. PT Tuesday to deliberate the matter.

Why do you ask about the dutch?

Holland is a modern industry nation with a large steel industry, chemical industry and the world biggest harbour, Rotterdam, measured in how many bruttoregistertons that pass. Together with Denmark, they have the most advanced agriculture, with the highest production per area. There are several big dutch companies, including Unilever (one of the biggest food companies in Europe), Shell (known for oil and gas) and Philips (Chips, Consumer electronics etc.). Holland is probably one of the countries in Europe with the biggest export per inhabita. They had their own plane industry (Fokker) and car industry (DAF), but this industry is now part of other European industry, like Airbus and Volvo. There are 15 million people in Holland, and they prefer to be named "The Netherlands" since Holland is the name of a dutch province.

I hope this answers your question.

Lars.
