I think the news that Intel has chosen Rambus RDRAM for network appliances (not DDR), and TranSwitch has licensed RaSer being posted in about three days is pretty darn good.

Rambus is one little company, when you post DDR stuff, you're talking about a whole bunch of same old same old things that we've heard before. Or are just little news bits from somewhat biased sites.

Today, Rambus took another large step forward with their RaSer initiative. And of you look at the market for RaSer, I'd say this news is pretty good, and we'll likely be hearing more from it.

Incidentally, you're wrong wrong about Samsung and RDRAM. Since the 845 chipset has come out, the demand for the 850 has gone up. Therefore, in good business sense, Samsung will make a little more money on it. Samsung is not clearing out all their RDRAM, nor is Elpida or Toshiba. You're posting lies when you say stuff like that. There is too much DDR and SDRAM being made, which is why it is so cheap. The pricing recovery is going to come from the bottom up, which means Rambus is sitting pretty, awaiting the recovery, where it will seem an even better value than it is today.

This game the memory manufacturers are playing is a fool's match, where each player keeps getting dealt blows until one falls. Dumb, if you ask me. (Although Samsung will unquestionably survive).

If you're a basher paid to spend your time writing lies on this message board, then I guess I shouldn't be that surprised by the manner in which the money is wasted.

You represent, in so many ways, the lowbrow attitude of the memory manufacturers (IFX, MU, Hynix) who have no regard for the customer, or the inventor, or the facts. It's all about telling the story you have created in order to save your own asses.

Pathetic, really.
