BOSTON--The Massachusetts attorney general said he and attorneys general from "a core group of states" will not support the federal government's antitrust settlement with Microsoft.

Attorney General Tom Reilly, whose state has a large base of technology companies, said he and other attorneys general are prepared to ask a federal judge to impose a remedy that is harsher than the one Microsoft hammered out with the U.S. Justice Department. He said the current agreement is "riddled with exceptions."
