On SI, an un-terrorist dissenter was recently called a traitor.

Uh, are you keeping count on that one? From my occasional spot checks on the threads where the right wingnuts hang out, that's not exactly an uncommon occurrence. siliconinvestor.com

A lot of people don't realize it, but they have a lot in common with Osama bin Laden, Ted Kaczynski, Tim McVeigh, Luddites, anti-globalisation, anti-UN, the Boston Tea Party and the American war of independence.

This little terrorist glitch will be tidied up and security will be tightened up. Afghanistan will be tamed.

But people will notice that there is less room for individualism, privacy, authoritarianism will grow, freedom will become a meaningless concept from sometime long ago [freedom never really made it into 3D and was always a slogan, cliche and political cant. There was actually more of it when the sheople were less domesticated than in these freedom-touting times].

Jerry Falwell made comments which showed his Osama symathy when he allegedly said the WTC murder and destruction were brought on by American moral turpitude.

I'm sure the Statue of Liberty isn't calling people to a social security number, a driving licence, smoking laws, and a legal system which weighs several tonnes [that's just the promulgated laws, regulations, edicts, case law etc]. Any personal behaviour not specifically approved is prohibited. All actions require a permit. Cutting a cherry tree down is an environmental crime.

<A SQUAT grey building of only thirty-four stories. Over the main entrance the words, CENTRAL LONDON HATCHERY AND CONDITIONING CENTRE, and, in a shield, the World State's motto, COMMUNITY, IDENTITY, STABILITY...contd....>

Osama, Ted and Tim perhaps have more in common with you than you realize. When you each get a tracking and monitoring implant [for security reasons only of course], I wonder if any of you will offer resistance.

What are your tax levels up to? More Federal taxes than were payable to the British Crown before USA independence?

PS: Incidentally, I noticed that there was a USA-funded terrorist attack in Birmingham. I wonder how the FBI is going on tracking down people who donate to the Real IRA.
