I think a more crucial question is: As it stands now, the day Israel ceases to exists as a nation, is the day the Arab world (for all practical purposes) also ceases to exist. 150-200 nuclear warheads, and the ability to deliver them anywhere their missiles, bombers or subs (cruise missiles) can reach, means that Israel isn't going anywhere. This seems to be a reality that always seems to be ignored when discussing Israel, the Arab World, and the United States' relations with both.

Faultline- If I mention terrorism; I figure I've got all the items you've listed, as acceptable topics :o)

But in combating them it wouldn't hurt to remove an unfairness which has been a gut issue to people who are drawn to their propaganda line.

I think you've touched a key issue here. Problem is, "fairness" has a very different definition for most Muslims than it does for other people. For Muslims (esp. those with extremist leanings), "fair" means that Muslims must never, ever be ruled by non-Muslims, not even if the Muslims have equal rights. However for Muslims to rule non-Muslims and treat them as second-class citizens and worse is perfectly "fair". You can ask the Coptic Christians in Egypt or the Jews who came from Arab countries, or the Hindus of Kashmir about the Muslim notion of "fair". As long as Muslims keep this notion of "fair" there are going to be problems with the neighbors.
