Actually Yahoo is a good starting point for research on this company but of course with NAT you have to dig deeper.

biz.yahoo.com

Your best bet is to call the company in Bermuda (809) 295-2244. I did this earlier and its more reliable than reading one of the yahoo posts. They will also fax the financials and give you the dividend amount.

Then there is the company website which is two quarters behind updates.

uns.no

Then of course there is the sec filings. The latest info I could find is this and notice it doesn’t give the exact dividend date.

sec.gov

“Based on the Additional Hire of $1,840,283 for the 3rd

quarter of 2001 and the minimum Base Hire for the 4th quarter of

2001, from October 1 to December 31, the Board of Directors

declared in October 2001 a Dividend of $5,338,633 or $0.55 per

Common Share. The dividend will be paid to Shareholders in

November 2001.

The table below illustrates the historical development of the

Dividend per Common Share:

PERIOD 1997 1998 1999 2000 2001
----------------------------------------------------------------
1st Quarter 0.40 0.32 0.34 1.41
2nd Quarter 0.41 0.32 0.45 1.19
3rd Quarter 0.32 0.35 0.67 0.72
4th Quarter 0.30 0.30 0.36 1.10 0.55
----------------------------------------------------------------
Total USD 0.30 1.43 1.35 2.56 3.87
----------------------------------------------------------------

IMO this is still not the time to buy into the shares although a 10% dividend (I’m assuming the base of $1.36) is not a bad return in this environment but there are still risk factors (like if BP doesn’t renew lease in 2004 what is the FMV of the 3 vessels). I’m bullish on this stock long term but the short term issues are still keeping me out.

Hope this helps.

Tim
