There are many, many suggestions about a stranger's behavior who none of us saw, and it was NOT reported. How do we get to "indignant"? There sounds like anger towards what is little more than a figment of the imagination people are drawing from very little information.

We don't know what THEY did. We don't know what SHE did. Speculation about the possiblilties of people being unreasonably detained and hassled makes sense. Speculation about the a National Guardsman being over-zealous and perhaps rough makes sense. Speculation about a passenger being upset, and perhaps "indignant" and uncoopertive makes sense. To express the anger I've heard here towards someone we know nothing about, and little more about what actually happened, does NOT make sense.

And the wand operates how it does. Ain't gonna help it be more sensitive to stick closer than is necessary no matter how "suspicous" the person.

And the person "on edge" is no more in line for forgiveness of over-duing it than the person set "on edge" by that person.

Tempers flare. People act silly. Nothing new there.

if she was flagged on that computer.

She was flagged for having bought her ticket on line. That is an announced flag for all ticket checking.

The issue is the computer.

What computer?

Has anyone ever seen a computer at a security checkpoint that the security folks can check for flags? I have flown every week since 9/11 and I have flown all over the U.S and internationally and I have never seen one airport that has a computer at the checkpoint. I also buy tickets online all the time. Flew this weekend on tickets purchased online as a matter o fact. Since 9/11, I have only been intensely searched one time. And that was on a flight that I had purchased through a travel agency. If she bought the tickets online, she was likely flying on an e-ticket or had the tickets sent to her. She would not even have needed to go to the check-in counter. It is very unlikely that the people had any idea who she was.

But, I have seen a couple of guys give some attitude when going through the security checkpoint. They both were taken aside and got a thorough search of their bodies and bags....

Also, everytime that I have had the wand used on me I have been touched by it. Generally it is a light touch throughout the scanning. No big thing.
