Hello Paul,

Well her basic criteria for selection in her blue chips always seemed straight ahead.

iqtrends.com

I've seen articles over the years about her two books, and if my memory is correct the books do detail what she wants in fundamentals. I believe her charts are a somewhat proprietary animal.

I highly respect her dividend FA -- but think her charts and her son's chart reading as nothing short of terrible.

If we have the basic FA (dividend increases, earnings, etc), then all the answers are in the longer term price history. I've found nothing better than a basic P&F chart for entry, price objective and exit. Nothing.

I've never really looked at SSSS. Don't know a thing about its FA but its chart is not very pretty.

stockcharts.com

Too early to tell if it's a base. And if it is, it's a very weak upturn off the bottom. My guess is further down to or near an old support line.

Take care,

Eric

Hello Paul,

Would appreciate your thoughts on the status of EK's dividend.

Btw - Here's the poor man's RDY substitute using Relative Price (compared to the SP500).

stockcharts.com[h,a]mallyymy[p][vc60][iUj[$spx]]

Note how when the price of EK was at apx. 40 in mid-96 and relative price was at apx. .06. And now most recently it's in the 40 area but you can see where the relative price is. My charts are longer than this.

Thanks and take care,

Eric

I've had SSSS on my watch list, and now it looks low enough for me to start a very small buy.

They're a diversified industrial manufacturer. I'm hoping their military contracts will increase or at some point be given a premium value by the market. To me, the stock offers a reasonable price/book and price/sales. P/e might be a little high. Company's sales haven't grown significantly recently; long term debt has come down though. The dividend yield is about 2.7%.
