Carrying a camera around with you doesn't have to be for the purpose of "spying" on your neighbor. Carrying a camera around with you to use in case of someone committing a crime so you can record the event is a pretty good deterrent. Besides it keeps the police in line, also. But the point is, we're all stuck with a situation not of our making, and to think that the government is going to be able to protect us is sheer folly. The right to keep and bear arms is a pretty good thing right about now, IMO. We all have the right to own a gun, and have the right to defend ourselves if needed. And I doubt if your fellow citizens are the ones you have to worry that much about.
