My habits are pretty much as simple as my mind. I can't remember the last time I got really excited about some new technical gadget. But last night - the MXP 100 had the whole family saying 'Cool!'. I very quickly loaded a few CDs via the MXP Explorer after 'ripping' from the MusicMatch software. That process was extremely simple. It surprised me how quickly it was to download a CD onto the MXP 100 via the USB. I'll time it later, but a ripped CD downloads in about 2 or 3 minutes it seems. I've loaded several more CDs since. I haven't had a sound system to date that sounded as good as what I was listening to last night. VoiceNav seems to work real well. I had the wife, both kids, and our neighbors try the VoiceNav. All seemed to do it pretty easily on the first couple of tries. My neighbors in fact, without provacation, said they are getting one! They definitely don't buy things if they don't think they are top quality. That was good feedback. The Voice Recorder had super pickup and clarity. Play back was great as well. I was using the backlight while lying in bed. Settings allow you to set the light timeout length. Earbuds have really nice sound. They aren't the cheapo plastic ones you find...they seem to be very well made. After tossing the MXP 100 in my pocket on my way out the door this morning, I plugged her in at my desk...AHHHHH! Beautiful music !! I haven't seen any quality concerns, yet. Quite the opposite - everything meets (and most surpass) my expectations. There are a few minor design preferences I have that aren't necessarily there but (a) I've always been an odd duck and (b) Many times after a day or two of use I see why things are designed the way they are. They've had a bit longer than the day I have to think about what makes the most sense ! I volunteered during the order process to provide feedback so I will give those minor suggestions to eDigital for consideration in the bigger picture. It would be great to see Blaupunkt or someone else come out with an eDigital Microdrive design for the automobile. If so, I'm buying one asap. Than it's swapping microdrive music collections just by sticking a half dollar size drive in my pocket !! OH...BTW, I threw one of my Excel spreadsheets from home onto the MXP 100 and here at work, voila!, there it is on my MXP 100. Part of the equation has been put to bed for me now. eDigital can develop and manufacture cutting edge and top quality stuff !! Regards, molasses
