Jerome,

There is no set answer to what programs can be removed from your system.

You should use "Add/Remove Programs" from the Control Panel to remove programs (Start => Settings => Control Panel => Add/Remove Programs). Under the Install/UnInstall tab, you can remove any old programs that you do not need or no longer use.

Under the Windows Setup tab, you can remove any Windows components that you don't use or need.

I would recommend that you not use disk compression unless your are in dire need of more disk space. Using disk compression, especially ultra compression, will slow your computer down.

Hope this helps.

B.K.

Is disc compression recommended?

NO!

If you are in need of more space yet don't want to upgrade your system yet, get an Iomega Peerless drive, or even a cheap Zip drive. Compression means you will have a very slow system. I personally know of no instance where I would opt to compress my drive.
