So what AMD's trying to say is "no, gate lengths aren't where you get your speed." *tongue firmly in cheek*

Consider the alternative. He could have said "we're hemorrhaging money faster than we can sell off assets so what do we have to lose? Sure we're burning tomorrows performance gains but otherwise there's no tomorrow. We're buying ourselves time."
