I know what you mean.

When I saw the young Rolling Stones in the early 70s in Dallas, everyone stood during the whole show. When Mick came onstage in a red body suit with a large gold Leo symbol on his chest and dancing like a maniac, the crowd went wild! It sounds corny now, but everyone was dressed in their hippie finery and it just seemed cool then. ;-) I stood in a folding chair the entire concert.

When I saw Bob Dylan in Fort Worth, it was during Nixon's last days. When Bobby sang "sometimes even the president of the United States must stand naked" the crowd went wild and red, white, and blue strobe lights raked over the crowd! Everyone in the crowd held a lighter above their head and it was breath taking.

I also felt that energy at many other concerts, including a B. B. King concert in Austin a while back.

It sure is nice to remember those times instead of talking about the war.
