I don't understand why Carly's demise would result in anything but a rise in HWP.

As soon as CPQ went below $8.85 area all the stop loss orders went off. Now big block buyers are mixed with arb selling. The pure CPQ plays will take some time to bring the stock price back. At the same time look for traders to take profits at the arbs expense and HWP price to come back down some.
