You are confusing what the President does in the interest of the nation and personal integrity. But look at your argument. "The regime is corrupt, by most accounts," I don't know enough to call them corrupt. I know I don't think they have a fair government based upon my rules of right and wrong. But I don't have the right to dictate my way to them.

As to where the terrorists came from, they were seduced by whatever binnie told them. There were a group that has very little to do with Saudia Arabia. The critical mass of evil occurred because the taliban allowed binnie free reign.

You attempt to make an argument based upon spurious assertions and associations that prove nothing. I consider all the election reform crap to be loop hole heaven so the dishonest can cheat and the honest must do business at a higher expense.

All candidates can chose to implement whatever election reform they wish on their own campaign. You attempt to make this an issue of dishonest by inaction and I see it as an attempt to create a haven for dishonesty.

All Americans should be free to spend whatever monies they wish for whatever they wish. All candidates are free to hide or reveal as they see fit.

Then you can vote on each candidates personal decisions or not.
