billion by 2005, says report

SAN JOSE -- With a boost from
cellular phone applications, power
semiconductor revenues will grow to
$26.8 billion by 2005 from $17.7
billion in 2000, according to a new
report from Frost & Sullivan.

"Mobile communication devices
provide a tremendous market for the
power management and smart power
integrated circuits," said analyst
Sunderraju Ramachandran of Frost &
Sullivan Industry. "Power integrated
circuits, with much smaller
chip/board area requirement provide
a natural choice for the portable
communication applications such as
mobile and cordless telephones."

The report concludes that market
share in the power semiconductor
segment remains up for grabs with
integration of features and process
breakthroughs deciding which
suppliers will emerge as winners in
the middle of the decade.

We're back to 40+ where we were before Sep 11 less than 2 months ago. We've gone down for 18 months so as for me (I don't know yours) I'm expecting that we're to go up for at least 18 months also.

Of course AMAT could go down to 15, 10 or to Zero if for example the Terrorists ultimately win. But for me I'm optimistic as I always have been. I expect a 10% more or less profit taking every time we climb a certain level. The problem is it's hard to pin point in advance where those temporary Tops are. It takes some kind of skill just like the Bearish inclined possesses to Sell/Sell-short then Buy-back/Buy-to-cover as we YoYo ourselves Up.

As for the Bullish inclined like me, something good happened after Sep 11 (not only bad) --- we were able to buy at very low prices. All we have to do now is to wait for our investments to grow, adding just for the thrill of it during Yoyo drops. Because I play options, I've to replace Options as they get nearer to expirations. So if I sell something it's not because I'm quitting or bailing out; it maybe just to improve my possession going forward.

Good luck to All!
