Expos/Twins are gone. Sad about the 'spos my childhood team but they needed to be put out of their misery.

I should re-phrase.

Of course he could have prevented it, but at what risk? I don't think he was talking out of the side of his mouth when he made the 'irrational exuberance' comment at Dow, what was it 6000 or so. It was a fair warning especially to ltbh folks. Now again, the easing in 98 was a mistake. Hey, the guy has a tough job. I don't see how he could have done anything but err on the side of looseness. Same thing with Y2K.

Human nature ultimately created this bubble. And AG is not able to control that. I will stick by my guns in my belief that boom and bust is an inevitability in a market economy. Especially one in an economy as aggressive as ours. Controlling the degree of boom and bust is the best the FOMC can hope for.

A final thought. In my mind the excess was not entirely wasted on .com retailing. The easy money also resulted in massive technological and bio-tech ramping that will enhance our lives for decades. Hopefully we will all be around to enjoy it.
