Not so. BOE auctions have shown less & less impact

over the years. Early auctions had the most negative effect on the gold price. But the market has become more and more successful in smoothly absorbing the supply

Auctions during the past 12 months have been strongly bid. Purchase offers commonly range from 3 to 4X the amount of gold offered by the BOE.

rolatzi,
RE BOE sales. Agree with isopatch and will add that not only are they having less negative effect, at times the sales have launched a nice gold rally.

Nov 27 is the third last sale, only two more one each in January and March 02 with the specific dates as yet to be announced, last time I looked on the BOE website.

Then it's Tic Toc "You're Empty"

But don't forget that while the BOE has been selling with fanfare the Swiss have also been unloading 200 tons a year, quietly.

An additional aspect is that yesterdays 1/2 point rate cut was throwing the throttles to the firewall on the dollar plane.
The issue is still in doubt and will take some time to play out, but when they are ready, a measured increase in the gold price may indeed become their Golden Parachute.

OOPSIE Mr GreenPress!

PS Quite an interesting 60 minute spot gold chart overnight and last few days, there's some fighting going on in the trenches there!

Best Regards,

Roebear
