UW: mixing your metaphors here, I think. The "press," regardless of stripe, are all driven by the same business imperatives, ratings, etc. Hearing the Pentagon say "we are bombing the Taleban front lines" is sssooooo 5 minutes ago, ya know? We need new news now! So the apparent contradiction between the so-called liberal media simultaneously picking the policy to death and tapping their feet impatiently is less a function of politics than business. After all, Fox, MSNBC, CNBC, NBC, ABC are all corporate subsidiaries, and at least GE makes no bones about the function of these networks --make money.

I'm very happy for your family's preparation. Would that we all had an unclewest in our family tree. :-)

As far as the liberal v. conservative argument goes, I'm under the strong impression that this is considered OT here and in deference to Faultline, will drop it.
