i can tell you this...when the governor of california announced credible threats against the big suspension bridges i was 210% convinced it had to be a nuclear threat.

Your responses are interesting, so very different from mine. My first response to Ashcroft's non-specific warnings and to Bush's warning this morning about nuclear threats is to look at the context in which the warnings are given. In Ashcroft's case, it's generally in the context of legislative needs he's pushing; today's warning by Bush was an attempt to get European leaders back in line.

I don't doubt there is something back in there, however far one might have to go to find it. It just seems a bit opportunistic to issue those warnings when they refuse to offer anything that even approaches evidence.
