Actually, he has an 87percent approval rating, which doesn't necessarily equate to love. Here are some more stats from the weekend poll ~

Poll Shows High Favor for Bush
By The Associated Press,

Some results from a poll on President Bush (news - web sites), the anti-terror campaign and the election a year ago released Monday by CNN-USA Today-Gallup. The poll of 1,012 adults was conducted Friday through Sunday and has an error margin of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

-Americans said they would vote for George W. Bush over Al Gore (news - web sites) by almost a 2-to-1 margin if the election were held now. They were evenly split at 48 percent apiece in early August.

-Four in 10 think that if Gore had been elected, he would have done about the same as Bush in handling the anti-terror campaign. Four-in-10 think he would have done worse. About one in 10 thought Gore would have done a better job.

-One-fourth thought Gore, if elected president, would have done a better job handling the economy than Bush has, and a fourth thought he would have done worse. Four of 10 said he would have done about the same.

-Almost nine in 10 - 87 percent - approve of the job Bush is doing, about the same level of support he's had since the Sept. 11 attacks.

-People were about evenly split on whether they would support a Democratic or Republican candidate for Congress. In June, Democrats had a 50 percent to 43 percent advantage.

-One-fourth said they think it is very likely more terror attacks will occur in the next few weeks, and half said it was somewhat likely. Four in 10 said in mid-October that more attacks were very likely in the next few weeks.
