Howdy Ed,

Well, you plum nearly wore out that keyboard on that last one, "girley" fingers or not. There's a lot of general agreement that I have with you. With health care represeting something on the order of 14% of GNP in the U.S., it's a Willie Sutton kinda decision to look for investments there.

Re: Warning, I don't know a damn thing about biology; I don't even remember if I took it in high school.
Well, then, I'm one class ahead of you, possibly. I found that some of the SI threads, including Celera, were quite informative as I was attempting to form some sort of informed opinions.

Here's a book I've read to try to understand the industry:

amazon.com

It's a tad dated now, but it does provide good industry background. It won't cover today's bleeding edge.

Here's more on Cynthia Robbins-Roth:

biospace.com

She writes occasional columns for Forbes Magazine, that are quite readable:

forbes.com

OK, once you digest some of that, we'll carry on. The field of biotech is endlessly fascinating, and it'd be fun to bat some concepts around. :)

For now, I'd have to say that I believe I have enough information to be a danger to myself as a biotech investor. As always, YMMV. <g>
