Tony - Re: "Hey Brushwud, looks to me like you AMDers come over here so you can express yourself freely, which isn't allowed on the Icanbanyou thread. "

Yep - the AMDroids do their sleazy racist bating on the Intel thread - while Mani makes sure only his preferred brand of racism is tolerated on the Mani Thread !

Tony - A good insight into Dell's Notebook computer volumes.

"Dell’s notebook sales worldwide in 2002 will reach five million units, compared to this year’s four million units. Dell will rely more and more on Taiwanese manufacturers and less on its own capacity."

And - despite Eric Ross's (of Thomas Weisel) stupid and wrong predictions, all of those notebooks will contain an Intel CPU !!!

News brief: Dell orders will pump up notebook procurement from Taiwan

David Tzeng, Taipei; Willie Teng, DigiTimes.com [Monday 5 November 2001]

Notebook orders from Dell Computer are projected to represent about 30% of Taiwan’s notebook shipments in 2002. Quanta Computer, Compal Electronics and Wistron are Dell’s three main manufacturers of notebooks, and they will make 2.8-3 million units, 1.3-1.5 million units and 500,000-600,000 units for the US company, respectively, in 2002.
Taiwan’s 2002 notebook shipments are expected to rise 20% from 2001 to 15.6 million units, which means the three manufacturers’ projected shipments to Dell could contribute about 30% of the island’s total shipments in 2002.
