Tokyo Motor Show: Clarion Displays In-Car Computer Scheduled for 2002
November 7, 2001 (TOKYO) -- Clarion Co., Ltd. displayed a sample of its in-car computer, the AutoPC CADIAS, at the Tokyo Motor Show.

It has close affinity with a PC because it employs WindowsCE for Automotive for the operating system. For example, it enables users to transfer schedules and addresses on its PC using Outlook, personal information management software from Microsoft Corp., to AutoPC via a memory card. In addition, they can browse Web sites, trade e-mails, and download the latest map data by connecting it to a mobile phone.

It comes with such functions as voice recognition, voice synthesis, and hands free operation. It also has functions such as CD, DVD, TV, radio, and car audio using MP3.

Clarion is scheduled to launch AutoPC CADIAS after the summer of 2002. The company already introduced AutoPC in the United States, but no related products have been put onto the Japanese market. The price has yet to be decided. A Clarion attendant at the booth said it will be sold for a little more than 300,000 yen. (122.03 yen = US$1)

Its outside dimensions are the so-called 2DIN size, or 100mm high x 178mm wide. Its monitor is a 7-in. touch panel. It is equipped with a slot for PCMCIA Type II, a USB port, and a connector for a mobile phone.

>>>Just six trading days left until earnings are released; <<<

I left it out after a lot of consideration...no good way to factor it in. What AMAT reports in earnings and outlook will a big influence on how the stock trades going into the end of the year.
