"The #4 and #6 entries ought to tell you something about the volumes coming out of K&M. They must be pretty small and inconsequential for a K6-2 to top the charts. After seeing this, do you still feel the list accurately measures what the DIY market is buying?"

You have a strong point here. You may be totally right about small and inconsequential (and therefore not representative) sales by KME. That's exactly the reason why I almost stopped reporting about the lists around April.

I think it is obvious that everyone should take daily bestseller lists of one single German online hardware vendor (with additional stores in 18 German cities) with a huge grain of salt.

On the other hand, some long-term tendencies may still be seen there, who knows? Everyone should make its own conclusions.

I, personally, regret that I had NOT paid attention to the lists in Q2. If I had done so I would have sold my shares in April/May when it became obvious that CPU sales were very weak.

PS: Today, the Athlon XP 1800+ is marked as out of stock again at KME, whatever this means (low supply or high demand or just too small inventory at KME).
