Thanks, Mucho. Without knowing more, it makes sense that year end bonus money as well as the traditional gift money that kids receive on the turn of the New Year in Japan would certainly find its way into the retail market within the confines of what we call the holiday shopping season here in the states as well as Europe. I guess I was curious about the culture in terms of any specific type of event that is pretty universal in Japan where children receive gifts at the same time such as Christmas or Hannukah.

It all gets us back to the point that eventually, the Xbox will be introduced in the Japanese market - although not this upcoming December. If gifts are purchased according to the above of New Year's cash and year end bonus money, then it is obvious that not having product available will lose market share to other consoles this time around which you brought up in your initial post.
