Zoltie: During my daily search for truth on the Internet, I ran across this excellent analysis of "Bugsie" DeLay in regard to the airport security bill. I hope you enjoy the analysis as much as I did. *********************************************** Tom DeLay ... what a despicable piece of human debris. How this moron ever got the power he has is truly one of the great tragedies of modern American politics. Bugman's performance yesterday on the GE Whoring Hour ("Meet the Press") was a travesty. Normally I would call it childish, churlish, whiny and pathetic, but the issue debated-airline security-is far too important. Anyone who saw helmet head knows precisely what I'm talking about. For those who missed it, I'll leave you with one example to show why it is so vitally important that Delay, Hastert, and Dick Armey be relegated back to their slimy back benching status next year, instead of their slimy leadership positions: After stamping his puny feet like a six-year-old for the better part of fifteen minutes, trying to provoke the august and dignified Senator John Kerry into a "yes you did, no I didn't" argument, Tim Russert finally stepped in and asked is there any room for compromise on the airline security bill. Delay arrogantly claimed that the Senate was not willing to compromise (and BTW, we've all seen Delay's idea of compromise). Kerry shot back by saying that he could possibly compromise on federal oversight of baggage screeners, while keeping the screeners themselves private employees, IF provisions are made to increase their pay and benefit structure. And what was Delay's response to this very reasonable compromise? Nothing. Nothing because Kerry hit right at the core of Delay's true intentions. Nothing because Delay's true aims are to keep his political contributors' contracts in place, and still allow them to rake in the dough by paying the screeners dirt. Nothing, because that is what Delay wants to do to increase the security of the American people. Nothing.

New national poll: If Al Gore had been elected president in 2000, do you think he would have done a better job, about the same job, or a worse job than George W. Bush has done in dealing with the economy? Answer: 65% said Gore would have done better or as good as GWB in dealing with the economy. Same question, substitute Clinton for Gore: Answer: 68% said Clinton would have done better or as good as GWB in dealing with the economy. Put dem results in your pipe and smoke it, bubba.

Israel: Some of the highest levels of security are provided in Israel's airports. Similar to Europe, the airport authority is responsible for security measures. The Israel Airports Authority also has help from the country's internal security service. In addition, these two entities have extra security support hired by El Al Airlines, from private security contractors. flysafernow.com Israel uses a mix of private, but mostly public services for airport security.
