Maybe. AMD also might be re-thinking the need for a Duron-class processor except for laptops and low end SMP workstations. When processors were being introduced at $1k per unit, a low cost version made sense. Now that the highest cost processor seems to be around $500 or less, there isn't as compelling of a reason. Given WinXP performance hit for single processors, and the big advantage for duals, Duron class processors may just be the ticket for that. Can the new Celerons be used SMP?
