Exactly. I don't think the conclusion that most people make from this article is correct - but I guess that doesn't surprise anyone. I mean, who on earth would set a high priority on buying servers? Nobody buys server just for fun - it's mostly part of solving a problem. If there were no problems, all the servers you need are already in place. And even if you know you are going to introduce a big new Oracle or DB2 database, the CIO most likely would care much about which OS it runs, as long as it solves the problems and the service contract is good.
