It all depends if you are stopped out once and wait until a high is set or keep shorting and keep getting stopped out.

If the former is happening, I believe the better strategy is to take a longer view and stay the course if the losses aren't more than 5% and the T/A is compelling in your favor, or the risk/reward is still twice in favor of your original position.
