SB: I doubt it, Cheney, unlike the others, is the VP thus he is of more importance. As to Hillary, I doubt even the Terrorists are interested in her. JDN

In order to guarantee an orderly succession if the President is killed or otherwise incapacitated, it makes sense to keep Cheney in a different location and to keep publicity concerning his whereabouts to a minimum. Given the state of cardiac medicine (a subject with which I am mnoe intimately familiar)his heart condition does not seem overly serious unless he is chugging Manhattans while pigging out on steaks, french fries and buttered vegetables.

Relax. His medical condition is completely under control. Maybe you could write him a letter expressing your concern and best wishes. I'm sure he would appreciate a kind note.

Don't worry about Cheney's health. He's in South Dakota bagging some pheasant dinners. Takes someone in pretty good shape to hunt out there.

Cheney is in a safe place because he could run the country in the case of a disaster. Why is that so hard to understand? Jeeze, the repubs get slammed for doing the prudent stuff that insures our survival. Is there anything you guys won't slam them for?

"e've seen Powell, Rumsfeld, GWB, Hillary, Daschle-- Cheney is always in a "safe place"

I don't understand your lack of understanding. Considering that it is a realistic concern that terrorists have and may use weapons of mass destruction, it seems prudent to me to keep the Veep safe in case something happens in Washington, so that he can act as President.

I also, suspect, that the government knows more than we do, and it is likely that threats have been made. It is just impossible to have the President out of the public eye as that would likely panic the country, sot the logical choice is to keep the V.P. safe. I think it is a bad idea for the President and the Vice-President to be in the same city at the same time under ordinary circumstances, let alone today's conditions.
