In every case the supposed 'harms' that consumers have 'suffered' have been hypothetical and theoretical while the benefits they've enjoyed (compatibility, lower prices, greater function) are obvious.

I'm putting the finishing touches on a new XP system myself. Hope to get it finalized and on the way within the next day or so. I'm very much looking forward to it.

Consumers are harmed by giving them an offer they cannot resist, reducing competition and thereby the freedom of choice. This is why freedom loving countries fight it.
