nStor Technologies to Present New Generation of Storage Technology At COMDEX Fall 2001

- nStor to Unveil AdminiStor 6.1 Storage Management Software Suite, Offer Sneak Preview of NexStor 4000 Family of Storage Systems -

SAN DIEGO, Nov. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- nStor Technologies (Amex: NSO - news), an innovative provider of information storage systems, will introduce the next generation of its storage products at COMDEX Fall 2001, taking place November 12-16 in Las Vegas, Nevada. At the industry's largest information technology event, IT buyers will have the opportunity to experience 24x7 data availability and protection with nStor's high performance storage solutions.

nStor will offer a special technology preview of its NexStor 4000 family of storage systems, which will be officially announced in the first quarter of 2002. The hallmark of the NexStor 4000 is a high-density design that packs maximum storage capacity into the least amount of space. The system accommodates 12 drives in a 3.5-inch high (2U) enclosure for a capacity of 876GB. nStor's design also provides the ability to integrate active/active 2Gbit (200 MB/s) Fibre Channel RAID controllers or active/active Ultra160 (160 MB/s) SCSI RAID controllers without requiring the extra space of a separate controller module unit. All NexStor systems employ a modular design, making them excellent building blocks for storage area network (SAN) deployments or growing, direct-connect storage environments.

The NexStor 4000 will be available as a JBOD unit, single controller RAID or dual controller RAID system. Users can choose from lightening-quick 2Gbit Fibre Channel or cutting-edge Ultra320 (320 MB/s) SCSI connectivity. Additional features include full fabric support, 512MB of cache per controller with write-cache protection, Intel® xScale 600MHz processor technology, and redundant, hot-swappable components for assured reliability.

nStor will also be unveiling AdminiStor 6.1, a new version of its software suite designed for use with the NexStor family of storage systems. AdminiStor provides configuration, monitoring and management capabilities in one complete package. The software's intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) allows customers to install, set up and configure systems in a minimum amount of time. AdminiStor also features logical unit (LUN) mapping, which allocates storage resources on the fly without interrupting critical applications or server operations. Additional features include real-time monitoring and local or remote system administration. AdminiStor 6.1 offers cross-platform support in environments including Red Hat Linux 6.1 and 7.2, Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Sun Solaris.
