Taleban Fire on Russian Troops in Tajikistan 7 Nov 2001 20:02 UTC Taleban troops have fired on Russian forces patrolling the Afghan-Tajikistan border. A spokesman for the Russian border guards said today (Wednesday) that no one was injured in the incident, which occurred late Tuesday. The spokesman says the Russians did not return Taleban fire. Some 11-thousand Russian troops patrol the 12-hundred-kilometer border between Tajikistan and Afghanistan under an agreement between Russia and the Tajik government. voanews.com
