Joseph, that was excellent. TA is based on herd behavior and if it is too obvious (like stochastics sometimes are) it usually doesn't work. That's why it is important to have a series of indicators. That said, TA has saved my butt many times.

Definitely the footprints of herd behavior <g>
And all hindsight of course...

And since we are all seeing the same things, the obvious does usually happen. But we need to know what everyone else is seeing so we can go with the flow or contrarian if we wish.

I can remember far too many times when I was a newbie and had no clue why a stock was selling...even though it was obvious to the educated. I saw falling knifes as bargains for a long time <g>

So we need to study what everyone else is seeing to protect our own butts! We can go contrarian, but I for one
want to know which way the critical mass is heading.

I read an article the other day which made sense why this market had become so tough to trade, even for the "experts"...

It said that this bear has been very discriminating and has left only the ones with a clue still standing who have knowledge of TA and FA etc.

So it's tougher environment to trade now because there are fewer clueless traders and the traders left are good at what they do. Which is proven by the fact they are still in biz...and all those dabblers who made a fortune in a day on pump and dumps or net stocks by being in the right place at the right time are long gone <g> Because the knowledge was not there to back them up, only temporary luck.
