'War is such a messy business, and there are many who
want no part of it, but rush to bask in the security blanket of its victory.'

The US, who has a long history of giving untold hundreds of millions of dollars in aid to these countries that were devastated by war, famine & natural disasters. In times of war & oppression, we sent millions of American soldiers with many hundreds of thousands making the ultimate sacrifice, so these countries & their people could be saved from tyrannical murderers & horrific oppression. Rather than giving credence to the idea that these countries & their people might be somewhat supportive to a just cause initiated by the USA, you find a way to make excuses for their lack of support by putting them on par with a bunch of needy, opportunist raccoons to make your point.

'nuff said.

Hi Polvie! Well, you raise a good point and I can appreciate where you're coming from.

What I would expect is for people to do what's right.

If I meet a homeless person on the street and give him some money, then I walk further down the street and get mugged, I'd hope that the person I just helped would come to my defense in some manner, even if it is simply yelling "stop." What's right is for that person to try and do something about it, even though I didn't ask for him to.

Same with these nations that we've helped. What's right is for them to step up to the plate, stand their ground for humanity, and at least make a statement of support. Maybe they don't have an army, or money, or whatever, to aid support, but they can do something besides sit on their butt and do nothing.

The fact that we have been their friend, their ally, given them aid and support, should mean something along these lines, even if we didn't ask for anything in return.
